Reporting "asre Khoero", IPCO's CEO Mehdi Qaem-Maqam signed the agreement with Babak Negahdari, the deputy head of research and technology at IAU, during a meeting on Saturday, ISNA reported.
Negahdari hoped that the agreement will help the industry adopt modern solutions for enhancing auto production in Iran.
"With two main and 31 provincial branches, plus over 400 campuses and research centers along with more than 11,000 laboratories and workshops across Iran, IAU can provide IPCO with sufficient facilities to help the company boost its activities," he said.
"IAU can help IPCO modify and upgrade the design of its products by conducting tests at the university's workshops and laboratories."
IPCO is a local research and development company that designs CNG-hybrid engines for passenger vehicles.
According to Qaem-Maqam, developing high-performing, cost-efficient and eco-friendly engines by using cutting edge technologies is high on IPCO’s agenda.
“The collaboration will also provide students with an opportunity to study new issues in the automotive fields. More academic research will widen know-how in the field," he said.
