Reporting “Asre Khodro” quoted from ikcopress, Mir Javad Soleimani, IKCO Vice-president in quality and product development said that the current XUM is a ۱۹۰۰cc engine that would power Peugeot Pars soon.
Elaborating on IKCO plans to optimize XUM engine and design and development of its ۱۶۰۰cc version, Soleimani underlined that the fuel economy of the new engine would increase to ۶L/۱۰۰km.
Following Peugeot Pars, Peugeot ۴۰۵ and some other products of IKCO would enjoy ۱۹۰۰cc XUM engine.
Design and development of XUM engines led IKCO to localization of rear axle. It also would save about one thousand Euros per car.
IKCO Vice-president announced that ten Pars sedans have been equipped with XUM engine to pass required tests. IKCO will market about two thousand Parses outfitted with XUM engines this February.
This ۱۹۰۰cc eight valve engine produces ۱۰۷hp with ۱۵۲ NM of torque at ۳۵۰۰ rpm.
XUM meets Euro IV standard requirements and sips only ۸.۴ liters of gasoline per ۱۰۰ km.”
XUM currently comes in gasoline type but IKCO intends to produce the CNG-powered one in near future.
Self-sufficiency, optimizing fuel economy and minimizing dependence on foreign currencies has pushed IPCO (IKCO Powertrain Co.) forward to develop TU and EF strategic engine series while phasing out old gas guzzlers.
