Production of ۵۵۰۰۰۰ Cars without Foreign Reliance

Reported “asre Khodro” quoted from IKcopress,Hossein Najari, IKCO vice-president in production asserted, “This year, IKCO has put the daily production of ۲۰۰۰ sets of cars on its agenda, planning on supplying the required parts and components from Iranian part makers.”

Referring to the last year’s critical condition of car making he added, “Iran’s car making simultaneously encountered some problems, which resulted in production slowdown in IKCO; the abrupt halt of Peugeot ۲۰۶ and Pars parts import and foreign exchange rate unbalance beside barriers in car part import all leaded to a two-month pause in the process of production in IKCO.”
“The existing potentials in IKCO, SAPCO and our part makers could all let us manage to pass the crisis. For instance we could accelerate the Runna production,” he claimed.
According to the vice-president, in order to bypass the crisis, his company had successfully run Runna production line and made ۱۶۰۰۰ sets of Runna passenger cars last year. However the company’s total production reached ۴۵۰ thousand sets without Peugeot’s support.
Najari continued, “At the moment, IKCO enjoys a remarkable design and engineering capacity, producing ۵۰ various models of cars. Moreover, IKCO cars can meet Euro IV standard.”
He also referred to IKCO’s achievements in production and self-reliance and declared, “I should also say that at the moment the Iranian Company of Mobarake Steel supplies ۸۰ percent of our demand, while a major part of this used to be outsourced in the past.”
