Reporting “Asre Khodro”, Hossein Najjari who was appointed as SAPCO Managing Director could make fundamental changes in the company. Born in ۱۹۵۵, Najjari holds PhD in mechanical engineering from Birmingham University. He worked for Iran Vanet Company for two years in ۱۹۸۳, and started his activities at Iran Khordo Company (IKCO) since ۱۹۸۵. He also served as IKCO plan and program manager, director of planning and managing projects center, deputy head of comprehensive production system and deputy head in charge of production department.Looking at his resume, it is understood that he also served as non-obligated member of board of directors of SAPCO, ISACO, Mehrkam Pars, IKCO Mehvarsazan, IKCO Khorasan, IKCO Fars Province and SenIran Auto companies. A short interview with Najjari has been presented below on the occasion of SAPCO’s presence in Istanbul’s Automechanika:

Iranian auto industry is experiencing a very new era after it passed many experiences behind. The new experience includes wide-range of international cooperation for exports of automotive parts and cars which are the most important chapters of Iran’s auto industry international cooperation with the world. What are macro-programs of IKCO industrial group, as Iran’s largest auto manufacturer, based on the country’s economic macro programs in the next decade?
Three million cars should be manufactured based on ۲۰۲۶ landscape horizon of the country’s auto industry, and one million cars to be produced during this year (۲۰۲۶) should be exported. IKCO Industrial Group has planned its exports strategy and programs for ۲۰۲۶ based on the long-term landscape and programs. It goes without saying that IKCO should not rely only on boosting output, but it needs to do better in designing new products, branding and taking part in global markets. Therefore, developing exports is regarded as IKCO’s strategy to materialize its macro objectives and programs mainly shown as below:
• Supplying major part of currency needed by the company through exports of cars and services to facilitate supplying automotive parts and accomplishment of the intended projects.
• The chance of influencing and increasing profitable exports to other countries by means of raising rate of foreign currencies
• Developing exports by means of home-made products and presenting new products including Runna and Dena, based on the standards required for target markets, bring new opportunities for developing exports.
• The necessity of focusing on exports due to decreased demands in domestic market
• Lowering risk of supplying and producing in current business circumstances in the country through optimizing the investment made in foreign sites of IKCO partners to develop exports
SAPCO has made the required planning to infiltrate into the target markets based on IKCO Industrial Group’s macro strategies and policies to realize goals of the group. Accordingly it has taken part in Istanbul auto exhibition.

What are the privileges for Turkish prominent auto-manufacturers and automotive parts makers as well as eastern European automakers working with Iran’s automotive parts makers?
The most important privilege of improving cooperation between Iranian, Turkish and even eastern European automakers and automotive parts suppliers are closely related to geographical closeness of the companies.
On the other hand, some jointly-manufactured products of world’s prominent automakers are produced in Turkey and Eastern Europe which are similar to their products in Iran due to presence of big international companies in the two countries. An example of which could be Logan and Megan produced both in Iran, Turkey and Romania. Therefore it is possible to develop joint cooperation further among the countries on these automotive parts makers.

Turkey, as Iran’s most advanced industrial neighbor has had massive trade and business cooperation with Iran over last years. How can SAPCO work with Turkish car industry, especially in producing and supplying automotive parts?
SAPCO attaches a great importance to Turkey given strategic relations between the two countries. Since its establishment, SAPCO has taken effective steps through joint cooperation and holding joint exhibitions and meetings between Iranian and Turkish car makers. Given the satisfactory landscape faced by the two countries, it is expected that they would boost mutual cooperation further through enforcement of mutual agreements.

In what types of automotive parts is there a chance for IKCO to work with Turkish auto industry? Turkey is Iran’s gate for trading with Europe. What kinds of joint cooperation could IKCO have with Turkish auto industry to join the European market? In which part of Iran’s automotive parts manufacturing industry can Turkish companies invest given your long-term serving in car manufacturing, and your responsibility as car parts supplier of Iran’s largest auto-maker?
For the time being and for short-time, we can predict that there are potentials for cooperation between Iran and Turkey in producing jointly-made car parts, including for Logan and Megan and other Renault products. Moreover, regarding mid-term, I think that given the presence of international big automotive parts makers and automakers in Turkey, it is possible to make joint investment in producing single car parts in Iran through Turkish companies’ cooperation. On the other hand, considering Turkish membership in customs unification treaty with the EU, Turkish exports potentials for exports of Iranian-completed automotive parts to Europe could be specifically used.

What is your suggestion to Iranian and Turkish automotive parts makers to increase trade share of the two countries? What is your practical approach for success in Iran-Turkey trade relation in auto industry? Does establishment of joint industrial town in Iran-Turkey borders as approved by the two countries’ joint economic commission could create a satisfactory landscape for bolstering cooperation in their auto industry cooperation?
In short term, the two countries trade share could be strengthened effectively through developing cooperation in forms of meetings, joint cooperation, holding exhibitions and taking part in one another’s exhibitions. In mid-term, focus on finalization of manufacturing joint Islamic car, in which Iran and Turkey are playing a more leading role in design and manufacture process comparing to other Muslim countries, could considerably assist raise the trade share of the two sides. On the other hand, establishment of a joint automotive parts makers town in Iran-Turkey border as approved by the two countries’ joint economic commission, considering interests of the two sides to mature mutual cooperation and the existing acceptable potentials of the two countries, is regarded as a fundamental approach for obtaining higher trade share. It could also pave the way for practical measures to be taken by Iranian and Turkish automotive parts makers and investors.

SAPCO’s Active Presence in Automechanika Istanbul expo

IKCO Engineering Design Company along with six other auto parts makers is joining Turkish Automechanika expo scheduled for April ۱۰ in a bid to present and introduce capabilities of Iran’s car parts suppliers.
SAPCO is taking part in the four-day event and is presenting its products in Hall No. ۷ as large as ۱۳۰ cubic meters. Casting companies of IKCO, Kuban Kar, Tohid-e-Khorasan, Mashhad Forging, Rah-e-Fadak Gha’te and Forj Part Sazan are accompanying SAPCO in the exhibition as representatives of Iran’s automotive parts manufacturers. Geographical proximity, presence of big international automotive and car parts makers companies in Turkey, and joint products of these companies both in Turkey and Iran, which paves the way for mutual cooperation of the companies on automotive parts among are important objectives sought by Iran in the exhibition. Moreover and due to potentials for further cooperation on manufacturing more car parts for Iran-Turkey joint products, including Megan and Logan, and other cars in Iran and Turkey, it is expected that the two sides could possibly improve joint investment in supplying high-tech car parts through Turkish companies. SAPCO also aims to join the customs unification treaty with the EU to provide the grounds for exports of the Iranian locally-completed car parts to European markets.
