Reporting “Asre Khodro” quoted from Trend, the Managing Director of Iran Power Generation Transmission & Distribution Management Company (TAVANIR) Homayoun Haeri said the car has traveled through ۱۷ countries to arrive in Tehran from Paris.
“Once fully charged, the electric car is able to travel ۱۰۰ kilometers,” he said, adding that the charging process will take ۴.۵-۵ hours.
“Fully charging the car will cost only ۴,۰۰۰ rials (۱۲ cents based on the exchange rate of USD at the free market),” Haeri said.
He went on to note that Bushehr nuclear power plant will restart generating electricity as of next week.
“Bushehr power plant’s generation capacity stands at around ۱,۰۲۰ megawatt hours,” he said, adding that if the plant works to its full capacity, annually ۲ billion liters of fuel will be saved.
The country’s power generation capacity is currently over ۷۰ gigawatts.
Iran currently trades power with Turkey, Armenia, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Syria, and Iraq.
Iran seeks to become a major regional exporter of electricity and has attracted more than $۱.۱ billion in investments for the construction of three new power plants.
