Buchner added that Mercedes-Benz Trucks was no stranger to those who are involved in truck industries in Europe. “It is today is one of the biggest truck companies throughout the world”.
“Our co-markets are in Europe, America, Africa, Asia, and of course, the Middle East. We sell our trucks to nearly 200 countries”, he said.
The Head of Mercedes-Benz Trucks noted in this regard that “Iran plays an important role for us”.
According to him, Iran has an impressive prospective and young well-educated population rises the needs for transportation. “We, as Mercedes-Benz Trucks would like to grow our business in Iran and thus hope to build a commercial vehicle industry in the country”.
“Whenever we talk about Mercedes-Benz Trucks the keyword is technology leadership. We also introduced major safety innovation to the market such as PBS, electronic stability program and driving systems like active break system”, Buchner said.
It is highly relevant to Iranian market that “we provide gas engines with euro six based engines” he noted.
“We are excited to be opening a new chapter here in Iran to be very close to its market, its customers, and its officials. We will very soon open a representative office in Tehran and we have already begun to reestablish our truck business here”, Buchner said.
“Our target is to locally assemble and to distribute Mercedes-Benz trucks and the relevant components. On top, we also look for joint venture with Iran about engine manufacturing”, said the.
“In addition, we also see excellent prospects in Iran especially about truck segment” he added.
