Reporting "Asre Khodro", “Iran is, has been, and will be an important market for the Volvo group. We have been here for more than seventy years with a very close cooperation both for the Volvo Truck and Volvo Bus and Coach”, he said.
“We have a very interesting chance to go forward in Iran. It is a big country, important in the region”, he added.
Volvo’s CEO and Group Executive Team noted that “we have proven that we can sell good in the Iranian market”.
He said, “What we say is that we are investing with the latest technology in Iran. So it is not that we are localizing a model that used in Europe a couple of years ago or so”.
“We have latest technology and what we are doing now is to try to localize new models like FH. It is a full-fledged model with all the security and safety measures that you can have on it”, he added.
According to him, Volvo is also active in having the right air pollution and emission levels. “We say that Euro 5, for example, is a very good level to work on here given the distinct quality”.
“There are a number of activities we are doing but first of all, we try to localize the latest technology because that is what the Iranian market needs” Lundstedt noted.
He said, “Of course, we have a long-lasting relation with our partners in Iran. We must develop a very competitive solution together and that happens in respect of productivity and price situation. We can serve all the costumers in this market. We need to continue to work”.
